Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers is asking your help to solve the following crimes. The smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.

• St. Croix: On Nov. 2, St. Croix experienced its 19th homicide of the year. Many of the victims were males under the age of 25. Please help stop this carnage. If you have any information or know who was involved in any of the unsolved homicides, please call so detectives can find the killers and bring closure to the many families affected by these deaths.

• St. John: Police are requesting assistance in solving a daylight burglary that occurred in the area of Enighed on Oct. 20. A large amount of jewelry was taken plus clothing and an iPod. If you have any information about this burglary or the whereabouts of the stolen items, please call.

• St. Thomas: Police are requesting your assistance in solving a homicide that occurred on October 31 at about 9:20 pm in the area of Anna’s Retreat. A male was shot in the stomach and died of his injuries. If you have any information that might help solve this killing, please call immediately.

Community members can submit tips to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The tips are completely anonymous, and the stateside operators are bilingual.

Tipsters can also submit tips online at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by texting “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property or illegal drugs, the tipster receives a cash reward to be paid according to their instructions. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.

Crime Stoppers is pleased to report that we have now authorized 54 rewards totaling $42,699. If you submitted a tip, please check to see if you are entitled to a cash reward, as unclaimed rewards expire six months after the award date.
