V.I.'s Most Wanted Nabbed After 4 Days on the Lam

Uriah SmithUriah Smith, the most wanted man in the U.S. Virgin Islands, was captured by police Friday after four days on the run.

The arrest was made just a few minutes before noon Friday by patrol officers from the Wilbur Francis Command in Frederiksted, also known as B Command.

Officers saw Smith in the area of Marley Apartments in Frederiksted and took him into custody after a brief foot chase. Smith was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree, aggravated assault and battery, and child abuse.

He was placed on $25,000 bail and remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.
