Little Change in Weekly Survey of Gas Prices

There were no significant changes in territory gas prices since the last weekly survey, the Licensing and Consumer Affairs Department reported Wednesday following its Sept. 25 survey of gas stations on all three islands.
The previous surveys on St. Thomas and St. John were done Sept. 18. Licensing spokesman Shayla Solomon said the previous date for St. Croix was Sept. 17.
According to the press release, the overall average prices remained the same with only minor decreases at some stations.
St. Thomas drivers will find the best prices for regular gas at the full-serve Domino in Barbel Plaza, where the price is $2.88 a gallon. The next best price was at One Stop and Race Track, both in Sugar Estate. The price at both gas stations ran $2.90 a gallon. Both those stations charged $3.00 a gallon for premium, but the best premium price was at the full service Domino in Barbel Plaza. That station charged $2.98 a gallon.
The best diesel price was at the Domino station in Frydenhoj, where the price was $3.18 a gallon.
When it comes to self-service gas, prices on St. Thomas averaged $3.05 a gallon for regular and $3.16 a gallon for premium. Full-service gas averaged $3.03 a gallon for regular and $3.14 a gallon for premium.
Prices for self-service regular on St. Thomas ranged from a low of $2.90 a gallon to a high of $3.20 a gallon. Premium self-serve prices for regular ranged from $3.00 a gallon to $3.28 a gallon.
Full-serve regular gas on St. Thomas ranged from $2.88 a gallon to $3.30 a gallon. Premium ran $2.98 a gallon to $3.40 a gallon.
On St. Croix, the best price for regular gas was at East End Service Station, a self-serve station. The price was $2.34 a gallon. When it comes to premium, the best price was at the self-service Lionel Service Center, where it ran $2.41 a gallon.
For full-service, the best prices for regular and premium were at LaReine Service Station. Regular ran $2.80 a gallon and premium, $2.90 a gallon.
Average prices on St. Croix ran $2.40 a gallon for regular self serve, $2.68 a gallon for premium self serve, $3.02 a gallon for regular full serve, and $3.16 a gallon for premium full serve.
St. Croix’s prices for regular self-serve gas ranged from $2.34 a gallon to $2.50 a gallon. Premium self-serve prices ranged from $2.41 a gallon to $2.80 a gallon. Full-serve prices for regular ranged from $2.80 a gallon to $3.60 a gallon. Full-serve premium prices ranged from $2.90 a gallon to $3.70 a gallon.
St. John, as usual, had the highest prices. The best price on regular and premium were at Domino in Coral Bay, a full-serve station. The price for regular ran $3.03 a gallon while premium was $3.15 a gallon. The island’s other gas station, the self-serve E&C, charged $3.10 for regular and $3.17 for premium. Diesel was $2.99 a gallon at E&C.
