Stamina Sports Triathlon Set for Oct. 4

The 2009 St. Croix triathlon season will continue with the Stamina Sports Sprint and Try-a-Tri Triathlons, to be held on Oct. 4. All racers must be at Cramers Park on the east end of the island by 6:30 a.m. for the 7 a.m. start.

The Sprint race will begin with a two lap 800-yard swim. The bike course will be a 14-mile clockwise tour of the East End loop. The 3-mile run will begin with one loop of the park grounds, followed by a trip out to the intersection with the main road and back, and then a repeat of the first two legs.
The Try-a-Tri is designed for beginning tri-athletes. It will feature one loop of the 400-yard swim course, a 6-mile bike ride past Divi Casino and a 1.5-mile run around the park.
All athletes must pre-register at Stamina Sports, located in the Bingo Building. For more information, call 719-6749.
