DHPR Partners With Nutrition Club to Conduct Weight Loss Challenge Program

The Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation will partner with The Nutrition Club to conduct a 12-week class as part of the “Weight Loss Challenge Program” at the D.C. Canegata Multi-Purpose Recreation Center, St. Croix. The program is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 14, and the class is limited to 25 participants.

The weight loss program will be conducted by Arash Pahlavan, who is a personal wellness coach and has educated individuals in fighting obesity as well as developing a healthier lifestyle. The 12-week program will offer tips on nutrition and exercise and is paired with a hint of fun competition inspired by the popular fitness reality TV show “The Biggest Loser” and the success of similar Weight Loss Challenges nationwide, according to DHPR Commissioner St. Claire N. Williams.

Interested individuals are urged to contact the D.C. Canegata Multi-Purpose Recreation Center at 773-3954 or the toll free telephone number at 1-800-378-1905 for more details and requirements of the Weight Loss Challenge Program
