Colors of Paradise TV is a new, online only television show about the U.S. Virgin Islands. Current episodes include hiking on St. John, a visit to Lindberg Bay on St. Thomas, event coverage of the St. John Festival Parade and the Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament. The new TV show promotes the territory and is part of the popular U.S. V.I. travel guide, VInow.com, which is locally owned and produced. It covers St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island and includes features such as monthly newsletters, daily podcasts, an active discussion board and now a TV show.
"Web sites are always a work in progress, and we are continuously adding new sections and features to the Web site to keep it fresh and current," said Ansen Sligar, one of the site’s owners. "Video on the Internet is very popular right now. We felt it was a great way to bring the U.S. Virgin Islands to Web site visitors.”
Colors of Paradise TV on VInow.com was launched last month. "The feedback has been terrific. Some people planning vacations have said they enjoyed previewing what they will be experiencing, and a few former residents have written in reporting that they were excited for the opportunity to catch local event coverage online," he said.
The show is hosted by Africah Harrigan (www.africahharrigan.com), a local TV personality who has frequently covered events like Carnival parades and the International Rolex Regatta, in addition to hosting TV segments and shows. Harrigan is excited about this new opportunity and said: "I look forward to showcasing the Virgin Islands and informing people worldwide about the beauty, people and culture."
