The VI Small Business Development Center (VI SBDC) is sponsoring the seminars: “What Am I, An Independent Contractor or an Employee? It Really Makes A Difference” in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, V.I. Bureau of Internal Revenue, V.I. Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs, U.S. Social Security Administration and the Lt. Governor’s Office – Division of Corporations and Trademarks. The company hiring the person and the person doing the work really need to know the answer to that question. It makes a difference to both parties. The collaborating agencies will provide the attendees with an overview of the impact on each of the parties. A representative from each of the agencies will be presenting the information.
Admission is free; however, pre-registration is required. The seminar on St. Croix will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, July 28, at the VI SBDC Training Center at the Sunshine Mall, Suite 104. The seminar on St. Thomas will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, July 29, at the VI SBDC Training Facility at the Nisky Center, Suite 720. The seminar on St. John will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 30, at the VI Legislature Conference Room.
