Private and Parochial Schools Asked to Contact Education

June 9, 2009 – The Virgin Islands Department of Education is asking the territory's private and parochial school administrations for their enrollment numbers for distribution of books for the 2009 Governor's Reading Challenge.
"Students in grades kindergarten to eighth grade are encouraged to "Take the Challenge! Read 5! " this summer," said Roderick Moorehead Ph.D., special assistant to the education commissioner and department coordinator for the program. "In an effort to ensure the correct number of books are available throughout the territory for all students, the department needs to confirm numbers with the various school administrations."
