"There is bound to be something for everyone, so bring the whole family to enjoy the show!" said co-director Lisa Vaughan.
The students of the Calico Cat Company, ranging in age from 7 to 13, have been practicing a variety of characters to present a full panoply of hopeful contestants trying to win the title of "Crucian Idol," under the withering gaze of a panel of critical judges.
Directed by Vaughan and Tori Baur, "Crucian Idol" features two dozen young performers from schools across St. Croix, playing a cast of 40 characters, including the judges and hosts, and even performing commercials. This show is the culmination of three months of work with the young actors, teaching them such skills as improvisation, vocal projection, stage presence and much more.
"It's a great way for kids to present their theater skills," said Baur.
