Police: No Foul Play in Recent St. John Deaths

May 27, 2009 – Foul play was not a factor in two recent St. John deaths, the V.I. Police Department said in a news release issued Wednesday.
According to autopsy results released by the Police Department, Camille Paris Sr., 73, drowned. His body was found floating about 11:30 a.m. Sunday near the Cruz Bay ferry dock.
Ariel Powell died of existing medical conditions. His body was found at 4:40 a.m. Saturday in the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center parking lot.
Police had said earlier that the initial police investigation indicated that Powell was at a night club before to going to Myrah Keating. He said Powell told a family member he was beat up by several males. Powell drove himself to Myrah Keating, where he apparently passed out in the parking lot. Medical personnel told police Powell had a scratch on his face and a bump on his head.
