Gratitude

Dear Source:
Thank you to the many fire fighters across the island for not allowing the raging fire at mountain top to continue further into the area. Thank God that there was not a loss of life. While it was an awful fire, it was because of the efforts of this community that it did not spread further. This massive blaze was held back by the fire fighters and the many agencies and volunteers that supplied water and what ever was needed to contain the fire. The area residents are very grateful for your help and unbridled assistance.
I am very sorry that this island landmark was destroyed and hope that it will return. It was a cruel bit of fate that on the same day plans were unveiled to build a new and very much improved Doreathea fire station. Thank you Gov. John deJongh Jr. for standing by your pledge and pray that a blaze like mountain top will never occur again.
