Candlelight Dinner Theatre Will Present 'Tituba'

A.L.D. Candlelight Dinner Theatre presents "Tituba" at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 24, at the V.I. Bush Tea Garden.
The play, written and directed by Clarence R. Cuthbertson, will be performed by the Carabana Ensemble Theatre Company of St. John and will feature Jessica Silverado.
Set to the drums of Pereu music, 'Tituba' chronicles the true life of an enslaved Caribbean woman, who, after being sold to Boston slave owners, triggered the historical Salem Witch Hunt hysteria of 1692. Over 150 people in Puritan Massachusetts were imprisoned, hung or tortured. 'Tituba' debuted in 1988 and has since been widely presented throughout the Caribbean and the U.S. mainland.
There is a $30 prix fixe that includes the theatre presentation and a gourmet dinner by Chef Linda Chesterfield of Banana Leaf Bistro. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 227-3396 or e-mail: vibushtea@yahoo.com
