Brief: Police Arrest Suspect in Restaurant Robbery

May 18, 2009 — Minutes after police say he and another man robbed the Subway eatery in Nisky Center, officers arrested Michael Hodge Jr. and charged him with first-degree robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Police received a call from 911 about a robbery in progress at Nisky Center around 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Police detectives, who were close by, saw the suspects running in the area, and immediately captured one of them. Hodge was carrying a .38-caliber revolver that was confiscated by police, according to a V.I. Police Department news release.
The second suspect, who left with an undetermined amount of cash taken from the store's safe, remains at large.
The case is being investigated by the Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau. Police sk that anyone with information on the robbery call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 715-5522 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
