Don't Spend Another Dime on It

Dear Source:
Do the delegates to the Constitutional Convention really think the public will stand for another extension of time and waste of our taxpayer dollars on their ridiculously flawed document? At least some of the delegates seem to realize the hateful direction that this convention has taken. Despite legal advice by their own team, they continue to pursue a document that has no chance of survival in the real world, by including language that put those living in the Virgin Islands into categories, and assigning special rights and privileges to some of those people. Time after time, they have been advised that their fantasy document would not stand the test as to what is considered Constitutional. And, they continued on their path.
Screaming, threatening and childlike behavior became the norm, and complete failure to control the situation was apparent by us all. To add insult to injury, the community was paying for every second of this debacle. We are more than disgusted with this situation and can't wait to see it end.
Lets face facts, this opportunity to have a constitution for the territory was completely blown when certain members of the community were elected to the committee. These people are more than well known to ruin everything that is good and inclusive in our community when give the chance. Their only agenda is hateful discord in the community. Thank goodness they are a minority here, because most people dismiss their antics and their beliefs. However, it is now time to stop beating this dead horse. Cut our losses at this point, because this group of delegates will never be able to produce the document that our community needs and deserves. Don't spend another dime on any of this.
