Alert: Phone Outage in the Estate Nazareth Area

May 12, 2009 — A single-car accident caused extensive damage to a telephone pole and other equipment in Estate Nazareth Tuesday morning, knocking out phone service to the area, according to Innovative Telephone officials.
Technicians are on the scene and will expedite temporary repairs to get customers back in service as soon as possible, the company said. Permanent repairs are scheduled to be completed by the close of business Friday, weather permitting.
Areas that might have been affected include: Pillsbury Heights, Frydenhoj, sections of Nadir, and Compass Point.
After a preliminary assessment Tuesday morning, Innovative technicians found a 1,500-pair cable was damaged by the accident.
The company did not know the exact number of customers affected, Innovative vice president Dennis Chance said.
According to Chance, the fact that the cable pair may serve up to 1,500 customers does not necessarily mean all customers are without service. He urged all customers in the affected areas with service interruption to contact Innovative Service Center at 912 from another land-line or by dialing 778-1742.
