May 9, 2009 – Governor John P. deJongh Jr. today extended Mother’s Day greetings to all mothers of the Territory.
“This weekend is that special time of year for each of us to extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all ladies of the Virgin Islands who have given of their time and effort towards the raising of our children. I encourage all members of the community to take a moment on Mother’s Day to express both your love and appreciation to those very special individuals who are rearing and nurturing our young people,” deJongh said.
There is no question that each of our young people are a treasured gift, which requires an entire family, indeed an entire village, to nurture our children into productive citizens complete with sound, moral character, deJongh added.
“May God bless all mothers, their family and friends with an abundance of good health, peace and prosperity.”
