CCT to Stage Wacky Comedy

The Caribbean Community Theater will present the comedy "The Miss Firecracker Contest," with the first performance on Friday, May 8.
The wacky comedy, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley, will be performed six times at 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, May 8-9, 15-16 and 22-23. There will also be a matinee at 4 p.m., on Sunday, May 17. Christine Thomas directs the cast, which includes Nicole Cooper, Daniel Deane, Derek Martin, Sherri Poree, Raven Roache, and Khnuma "Kimmi" Simmonds.
Carnelle thinks that winning a beauty contest will make her somebody in her small Mississippi community. The family and friends who help her are a dysfunctional bunch, who tackle life in their own peculiar ways.
The play will be held at CCT, No. 18 Estate Orange Grove, Christiansted, St. Croix. Tickets are sold at the door: $15 for adults and $8 for students. No reservations are accepted; arrive early for best seating. This play is not recommended for children under age 13.
