Brief: 25-Year-Old Murdered in Christiansted

April 26, 2009 — Police on St. Croix are investigating a homicide that occurred about 8:45 p.m. Sunday in the John F. Kennedy housing community in Christiansted.
A concerned citizen called 911 to report shots fired in the area of Building Seven, according to a V.I. Police Department statement. Police units and an ambulance arrived on the scene and discovered a 25-year-old male shooting victim in the area. Emergency medical technicians determined the victim was unresponsive. Police are withholding the identity of the victim at this time pending notification of next of kin.
Major Crime detectives and forensic officers are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Police urge anyone who has information regarding this homicide to contact the Major Crime Bureau at 340-712-6077 or 340-712-6037, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
