Butterfly Farm Tour and Reception to Benefit Rwanda Project USVI

The Butterfly Farm on the Havensight WICO dock will host a Farm Tour Reception on Saturday, May 16, for Rwanda Project USVI. The community is invited to support the project by bringing their families and friends into the tropical garden tour. The garden teems with some of the world's most colorful creatures. Tour guides will be available to discuss butterfly habits and the miracle of metamorphosis.
All proceeds from the pre-sold tour tickets will be donated to the project's next trip to Rwanda. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The Rwanda Project is a recognized recipient of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, (501)(3)(c). For more information, visit: rwandaprojectusvi.org
There will be an opening reception from 9-10 a.m., Saturday, May 16, at the Butterfly Farm, which will include a presentation by the Rwanda Project, detailing the mission that has been instrumental in supporting orphans of Rwanda while enriching the lives of our local students. Photographs depicting Rwanda life and handcrafts will be available. Complimentary refreshments will be donated by Barefoot Buddha Coffee and Teahouse, and Jane Higgins Resortwear.
"The butterfly lifecycle is a symbol of hope, rebirth and miracles. The Butterfly Farm staff believes that these are symbols to inspire both the Rwandan survivors and our Virgin Islands volunteers involved in the Rwanda Project USVI," said Sharon Tait of Butterfly Farm. For more information about the Butterfly Farm, contact her at 715-3366 or visit: thebutterflyfarm.com
The Butterfly Farm tour tickets purchased in advance to support this cause will be valid for tours on Saturday, May 16, or at your convenience through the end of May. Tickets are available from student volunteers, Barbara Young at 626-4462 or the Butterfly Farm on the WICO dock, which is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., seven days a week.
