Crime Stoppers is asking the community to help the VIPD solve the following crimes, and would like to remind you that any information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, may be just what the police need to solve these cases:
St. Croix: Police are asking for assistance in a 2004 missing persons case. U-Roy Alphonso James was last seen in the Sunny Isles area of St. Croix on December 14, 2004. James is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 156 pounds. He was 25 when he was last seen. He has a dark complexion and scars on his forehead and chin.
St. John: Police are still seeking additional information on the murder of Juan Ayala who was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds on Monday, Jan. 5, outside his home in Estate Pastory. Police think there are two suspects, with one described as a black male with braided hair.
St. Thomas: Police are asking for information about the shooting death of Jahmarie Joseph on Tuesday, March 24. Joseph was shot to death in a drive-by shooting in the Bovoni area. Police are looking for any information about the vehicle and its occupants.
Crime Stoppers is pleased to report that of the 89 tips received to date, 12 have resulted in four arrests, the recovery of $3,500 worth of stolen property and illegal drugs, and the closure of 11 cases.
