18-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting

March 25, 2009 — An 18-year-old resident of Estate Nadir was found dead Tuesday night after police received a report of shots being fired in the Bovoni area.
The victim was identified as Jahmarie Joseph.
At about 10 p.m. Tuesday police emergency 911 received a call reporting shots fired. Officers responded to the scene and inspected the area, where they discovered the victim lying face down on the ground.
According to Deputy Chief Dwayne DeGraff, the preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle drove by the area where the victim was and fired shots, which struck Joseph several times. He apparently began to run and fell off a roof to the ground about 20 feet below.
Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and concluded that the victim showed no signs of life.
Detectives of the Major Crime Bureau are seeking information on this homicide. Anyone with information can call Major Crimes at 340-715-5522 or 715-5514. They can also call the chief's office at 715-5548 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
St. Thomas residents can call 911 from a land line or 776-9110 from a cell phone.
