Disability Advocates Sponsor Wellness in the Sun Fair

The Therapy Association and Disability Advocates (TADA) will sponsor the second annual Wellness in the Sun Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on April 11, at Magens Bay Beach, Shed No. 3. This event will promote good health and wellness by showcasing a number of fitness activities such as yoga for adults and children, tai chi, qi gong, meditation and nutrition. Community organizations that promote wellness have been invited to be part of the fair as well as massage therapists, chiropractors, fitness trainers, wellness specialists, counselors and nutritionists. The Schneider Regional Medical Center Rehabilitation Department will be coordinating the event along with fellow TADA members.
Many classes and activities will be free, although donations are welcome. There will be a nominal fee for receiving a mini wellness session with experts. Healthy food and drinks will be on sale throughout the day. TADA hopes to raise funds for the VI Disability Fund while promoting wellness in the Virgin Islands.
This community event is a great opportunity for your organization to advertise services that they provide. Please contact us if you would like to participate or would be interested in sponsoring a portion of this event. The organization is seeking financial assistance, tents, chairs, guest speakers, a public announcement system for the musicians and advertising assistance.
For information, contact Eileen Short P.T. at 776-8311, ext. 2018, or Bonnie O'Rourke-Barr P. T., at ext. 2028.
