AARP to Host Speaker on CPR

The St. John AARP Chapter meeting will be held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, March 19, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church meeting hall in Cruz Bay.
Bob Malacarne will speak on the important topic of cardio pulmonary resuscitation. CPR techniques have changed and he wants as many people as possible to be aware of these changes that could save someone's life. Many people are afraid to do any CPR because of the mouth-to-mouth respirations. In order to make it easier, people are now being encouraged to at least perform chest compressions. Malacarne will talk about the techniques and what to look for in evaluating a patient until emergency personnel arrive.
All members and guests are cordially invited. For further information, contact Joan Bermingham at 776-6182.
