March 3, 2009 – St. Croix Environmental Association will conduct a hike of Scenic Ridge and Mt. Stewart from 8-11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7. Hikers will depart from Mt. Pellier, walking along the road to Scenic Ridge and then (off road) into Mt. Stewart through rolling pastureland in an early stage of forest succession. The guide, Ras Lumumba, will share his knowledge of natural and cultural history along the way. Bring water to drink, a snack if you like and a camera. No dogs or cell phones are allowed. The hike is free for SEA members (donations welcome) and $10 for non-members.
