Thomas A. Radic Dies in Arizona at 87

Feb. 28, 2009 – Thomas A. Radic, 87, died on Thursday, Feb. 26, in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he had moved in 2005. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved with his family to St. Croix in 1969 when he was appointed headmaster of the St. Croix Country Day School. In 1974, he resigned from that position and became a counselor at the St. Croix Central High School until his retirement.
He served in World War II in the Philippines and received an honorable discharge. He received his Bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University and Masters from Columbia University in New York, where he also pursued his doctorate. His career began in the Winnetka Public School system and from there he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and then to St. Croix. He was committed to educating young people and assisting them with their future, which is everyone's future.
His wife, Elizabeth P. Radic, passed away in 1996 on St. Croix, and he is survived by his two daughters: Polly Robinson in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Sally Radic in Javea, Spain: his sons-in-law; and two grandchildren.
