Seminar for Healthcare Professionals Slated for February 27

Feb. 24, 2009 – Health care professionals will be able to learn more about how they can help prevent the recurrence of poor pregnancy outcomes.
Merry K. Moos, a national expert on prenatal care, will provide a training session on how to focus clients on pre-conceptional and interconceptional care, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at Charles Harwood Hospital, room 1041.

Over 10 percent of all babies born in the U.S.V.I. are below an acceptable birth weight. That level is 23 percent below the national rate. Low birth rate leads to long-term health problems.
