Mary Louisa Smith Fergus Dies at 92

Feb. 19, 2009 – Mary Louisa Smith Fergus, also known as "Maisie," of the Sunny Isle Home for the Elderly died on Feb. 16, at her residence. She was 92 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Ineta B. Hector, Denyse C. Farquharson, Patricia Larsen and Glaretta Lewis; grandchildren: Vertilee Henry, Dwayne and Monique Farquharson, Hans Jr., Huan Sr., Harald and Hank Larsen, Arah and Babatunde Lewis; and great-grandchildren: Janai Carter, Damani and Aniya Farquharson, Justin, Shayla, Lilah, Adé, Huan Jr., Devante, Mia and Amari Larsen. She is also survived by sisters: Ruby Dunlap and Elsweeta Martin; brothers: Joshua Peter and Oster Smith; and other brothers and sisters too numerous to mention; special cousins: Linda Lam Larsen, Mary Thomas, and the Hill, Joseph and Smith families; special friends: Rosemarie Williams, Joyce Burner, Janice Dore and family, Montgomery Joseph and family, Heskey family, Madilyn Roberts, Yvonne Rhymer, Gerda James, Joseph Pierre and Mrs. Mary; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 23, at the Friedensthal Moravian Church. Interment will follow at the Moravian Cemetery in Christiansted.
