Landmarks Society to Offer Tour, Lecture and Luncheon

On Saturday, Feb 21, St. Croix Landmarks Society will have a day of education and a luncheon.
Bill Taylor will first lead an architectural tour of the Office of the Governor in Frederiksted (the newly renovated Old Danish Schoolhouse). Participants should meet at Whim parking lot before 9:30 a.m. and then caravan (carpooling encouraged) to the Office of the Governor. Afterwards, participants will head back to Whim where Dr. Michael Connors will give a lecture, "A Historic Perspective," about his upcoming book, "Caribbean Houses: Architecture, History and Style." He will talk about St. Croix architecture, particularly the Whim Greathouse, and present a slideshow of his new book.
A luncheon will follow. The menu is: coconut scented acorn and butternut squash puree with plantain chips, field greens with warm salmon and flounder roll with basil vinaigrette (please advise in advance of any dietary restrictions).
Reservations should be made in advance for catering count. Tickets are available for $70 and include lunch. They can be purchases at Quin House Galleries, Schooner Bay Marketplace and Whim Museum Store.
