Brief: Abramson Named Rep For Elections Group

Feb. 16, 2009 — John Abramson, Jr., supervisor of elections for the Virgin Islands Elections System, was recently elected as the regional representative for the Northeast Region for the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED).
Abramson has been a member of NASED since 1995 and recently attended the winter 2009 NASED Conference in Washington, D.C. The organization is a national networking organization for state election directors and administrators, encouraging communication and coordination between state election directors for the exchange of best practices and ideas.
NASED recognizes four regions within its organization, Northeast, South, Midwest, and West. As the regional representative for the Northeast, Abramson represents Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Abramson will interact with his region’s state members to encourage participation in NASED’s activities, coordinate regional meetings, encourage membership duties, such as timely payment of dues and participation in bi-annual meetings, and attend board and annual meetings of NASED.
