George Washington Lake Dies at 82

Feb. 9, 2009 – George Washington Lake of Lake's Chicken Fry in Estate Smith died on Feb. 7, at his residence. He was 82 years old.
He is survived by lifelong companion, Annabel Dublin, better known as "Ms. Lake;" sons: Calvin, Elroy, Louis and Kenwyne Lake, and Alfred Rose; daughters: Joyceline Carty, Denise Dublin Lake Belcher and Moniqe Lake; sisters: Denise Niles, Henrietta Barry, Titania Lake, Mildred Barry and Allice Illidge; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sons-in-law, Ronald Carty and Terrence Belcher; daughters-in-law, Mae Lake; family friends: Beverly Roach and Janice Parsons; as well as many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 13, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel.
There will be a second viewing at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 14, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Interment will be at the Francis Family Plot in Smith Bay.
All funeral arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, 774-1464.
