Dear Source:
I am glad to see something being done about the taxi drivers. I have been coming to St. Croix for a few years and in the past used the taxis but after many times of poor service, it became apparent that I need to rent a car while I am in St. Croix . It is a extra cost to let the rental sit for a day or two, But I was not going to pay for poor service. I have also told my friends that if they come to St. Croix just rent a car !!!!!!
I have also seen where the taxi drivers I had went different directions and the fee's were different.
I have found most of the drivers wererude, gave little or no info on a location.
This may be our last year to St. Croix. They are out pricing themselves in hotel, food, shops. I realize they must make a living. But the majority are working class and not the rich that support the island by coming. Once you lose the base of visitors then you lose more then gain. Other vacation sites are offering great package deals. Maybe not making the extra money but it does bring in the money, salaries, shopping, everyone gets a share not just a few by over pricing.
