FOSTPL Annual Meeting Slated for January 24

Jan. 21, 2009 – The Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) invites the community to their annual meeting to be held at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, in the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital Sunroom. On the agenda will be a message from FOSTPL President Judy King-Edmeade, annual reports from the board and updates on programs such as the Saturday Children's Reading Program, Summer Reading Program, Hospital Library Cart, Student Volunteers Program and the Daycare Literacy Program. The Enid M. Baa Public Library's bookmobile will also make an appearance, and there will be a brief tour of the hospital library.
The keynote speaker will be Ingrid Bough, territorial director of Libraries, Archives and Museums, with an update on the state of the territory's libraries and the St. Thomas Regional Library and Records Center, also known as the "Tutu Library," which is now under construction.
Complimentary refreshments will be served following the meeting. Membership applications will be available. To express a desire to be considered for board membership or for more information, e-mail helping@fostpl.org.
The public's annual memberships, ranging from $5 to $15, help to fund the programs and initiatives of FOSTPL. Those who are unable to attend are invited to join Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries by visiting www.fostpl.org and clicking on "Join Us!"
