Soccer Results: New Vibes and Central Link Record Victories

Dec. 9, 2009 – The New Vibes are now one game away from winning their first St. Thomas Region title after their 6-1 trashing of the Raymix this past Sunday at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. The Raymix did create a little excitement by scoring first when Batister Jn Baptiste's right foot shot from almost the half-line beat the New Vibes goalkeeper Kim Antoine. However, the New Vibes took complete command of the game rebounding to take a 3-1 lead at the half. The goal scorers for the New Vibes were Marlon Wilton 2, Brian Charlery 2, Eddie Butcher and Junior Laurencin, one each. The New Vibes will only need a draw in their last game against the UWS to dethrone the fourth-time defending champion, the Positive Vibes. In the earlier game, the Central Link edged the Laraza 2-1, putting a serious dent in the Laraza's battle for third place. Goal scorers for the Central Link were Dolphy Dawson and Mike St. Felix, while Ashton Brown scored for the Laraza.
