Brief: Festival Food Fair Moved To Buddhoe Park

Dec. 6, 2008 — Gov. John deJongh Jr. said Saturday that the 2008 Crucian Christmas Festival Food Fair will be held on the grounds of Buddhoe Park in Frederiksted.
In a statement, deJongh said repairs to the Ann Heyliger Vegetable Market made it difficult to host the event at the traditional location.
“We realize that repairs are needed to the vegetable market and we are about to begin planning the renovations. In the interim, a consensus was reached to move the annual food fair to the grounds of Buddhoe Park in the vicinity of the clock tower kiosks," he said.
On Friday, the St. Croix Historic Preservation Committee approved an application from Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation Commissioner St. Claire Williams to use the area around the clock tower kiosks beside Buddhoe Park for the food fair activities.
