What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

April 15, 2009 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 1-3 p.m., on Sunday, April 19. This Sunday, we will feature music by Willie Nelson, Crosby Tyler, Neko Case, Cheryl Wheeler, the Crystals and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Naked Willie" by Willie Nelson. In the early days of his career, Willie made some recordings in which he was forced to accept syrupy string arrangements for his songs. He did not have the clout to release the songs his way. Now he does, and Willie and his long time harmonica player, Mickey Raphael, have re-released these songs with a much "rootsier" feel.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "10 Songs of America Today" by Texas artist Crosby Tyler. The CD was produced by Peter Case.
We play new music from Dougie Maclean, Neko Case, the Jackie Payne-Steve Edmondson Band, Steve Forbert, Cyril Neville and more.
We also play music from Shelby Lynne, Carrie Newcomer, Cheryl Wheeler, the Crystals, the Beatles, Amos Garret and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of Dar Williams, Alan Price of the Animals, and Mark Volman of the Turtles. We remember sax player Steve Douglas on the anniversary of his death.
We give away CDs from Neko Case and Texas country-artist Tommy Alverson.
Hook, Line and Sinker and St. Thomas Radiology Associates underwrite the Doug Lewis Show.
