VIWMA Asks Public to Get Involved on America Recycles Day

Nov. 11, 2008 – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority will celebrate America Recycles Day on Nov. 15. It is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging people to recycle and to buy recycled products.
Citizens can participate in the national event by participating in VIWMA's Recycling Fair, which invites Virgin Islanders to bring the following recyclables to any VIWMA site listed below, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 15. Only the listed items will be collected on that day.
Bring aluminum cans, ink cartridges, newspapers, wire hangers, e-waste (computers and computer parts), books and magazines to these sites:
Warehouse 17, in Sub Base, behind Nisky Center, St. Thomas
Winston Wells Baseball Park, St. John
No. 941-946 Williams Delight, east of Sunshine Mall, St. Croix
This is an opportunity to make a difference. For more information, call 712-4961.
