Both the New Vibes and the Positive Vibes Win

Nov. 5, 2008 – The Waiitikubuli's Mackendrick Bernard scored twice, but unfortunately for his team, it was in his own goal, as the Waitikubuli found themselves down 2-0 to the New Vibes early in the Tuesday night encounter at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. However, Dale Africa for the Waitikubuli did score in the correct net, so the New Vibes lead was cut to 2-1 at the half. In the second half, the New Vibes showed that they did not need any help in scoring from the Waitikubuli as Junior Laurencin, Marlon Wilton and Leyan Antoine all scored for the New Vibes as they won 5-1 to maintain their lead in the St. Thomas Region.
In the earlier action the fourth-time defending champions, the Positive Vibes, came from one goal down to edge the UWS Upsetters 2-1. Raymond Chetram scored for the UWS in the 11th minute to give them a 1-0 lead. The Positive Vibes' Keithroy Saddler penalty kick at the 34th minute mark gave them the equalizer. In the second half the Positive Vibes' Carlos Mendoza scored the game winner.
Action will continue at 7 p.m., on Thursday, at the Lionel Roberts Stadium when the UWS face the Waitikubuli, followed by Central Link vs. Laraza.
