Antilles Speaker to Talk on College Admissions Process

At 7 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Kimelman Library, Dr. Robert Massa of Dickinson College will speak on The Selective College Admissions Process: What Contributes to Success?
"The first step in the college selection process is for you, the student, to understand yourself–how you learn best and how you interact with others. Once you understand yourself, it is important to find how colleges approach teaching and learning–in and out of the classroom.
While there are many good colleges and universities that are selective, admission research has consistently shown no meaningful link between selectivity and the quality of learning. To find the best learning, you must look for the best teaching. "
Dr. Robert Massa is a veteran of over 34 years in college admissions. For a decade prior to becoming vice president at Dickinson in 1999, he was the dean of admissions and enrollment at Johns Hopkins University.
All are welcome to this counseling event. No RSVP is necessary.
