Oct. 3, 2008 – Donald G. DeWerd, also known as "Butch," died on Sept. 30. He was 68 years old.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and had lived on St. Thomas since 1959, working as a draftsman and general contractor for Tradewinds Construction. He is survived by his wife, Dawn DeWerd; daughter, Cheryl DeWerd; sisters: Lorraine and Gayle Tarantino; nieces: Dawn and Mary Hutton, and Melissa Tarantino; nephews, David and Patrick Hutton, Michael and Tony Tarantino; sisters-in-law, Kathryn and Jacqueline Buckley, Paige and Pamela Pepperdine; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A memorial will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Hull Bay.
