Archives Genealogy Workshop Features Photographs and Microfilm Resources

Oct. 1, 2008 – The Territorial Archives of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums will conduct a genealogy workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Enid M. Baa Public Library's Adult Reading Room (2nd floor). Registration for the workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The workshop will be conducted by Susan Laura Lugo, territorial coordinator for archives, and will feature photographs, digital images and microfilm resources from the Territorial Archives' collections. Participants will also receive information on how to care for their own photographic and digital image collections and how to use these resources for family history research, according to a press release from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources.
The genealogy workshop is free and open to the public and is one of many activities being sponsored by the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums in celebration of October 2008 as Virgin Islands Archives Month.
The library may be accessed by the courtyard staircase either from the Main Street entry archway or the Back Street gate.
