Sept. 24, 2008 – Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen said today that she would participate in the Obama for America's Tuesday outreach to churches by leading the effort to bring Moravians nationwide into his column in time for the November general elections.
"Faith outreach is an important part of the Obama-Biden campaign and as a practicing Moravian and a staunch Democrat, I will lead a conference call this week aimed at drawing Moravians from battleground states such as Ohio and Pennsylvania into the win column for the Democrats in November," Congresswoman Christensen.
"As we all witnessed the near-meltdown of our financial institutions, it is important to have men of faith such as Senators Obama and Biden, who practice their own faith, and practice the gospel in ways where the good of the people in the areas of health, housing, education, economic development and justice are always front and center in any of their initiatives," Congresswoman Christensen said.
"I believe that Americans are looking for positive change this November, and I will do my best to convince my fellow Moravians that Senators Obama and Biden will bring the change that is in keeping with their values and their hopes and dreams for a better country."
