Brief: Nevis Man Identified as Victim of Sept. 11 Shooting

Sept. 23, 2008 — Police have identified the victim of a Sept. 11 shooting in the Hospital Ground area as Nevis native Sydney Herbert, 52.
Herbert's body was found in the driver's seat of a green four-door 1993 Toyota Tercel on the evening of Sept. 11. He had been shot several times in the body, and emergency medical technicians pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Major Crime Investigation Bureau continues to follow up on all leads in this incident, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department. Police urge anyone with information on this homicide or any other unsolved killing to contact investigators by calling 774-4950 or 911.
