New Vibes Record Sixth Straight Victory

Sept. 15, 2008 – The St. Thomas Region's league New Vibes won their fifth straight game when they nipped the previously unbeaten UWS Upsetters 2-0, in Sunday's action at the UVI Grounds. They scored one goal in each half, both goals being headers. For the Vibes, Marlon Wilton scored in the first half while Alvin Joseph scored in the second, according to a press release from the U.S.V.I. Soccer Association. The tightly contested game was the first defeat for the Upsetters.
There were no games at Schjang Park in the St. Croix Region out of respect for the passing of Mr. Schjang.
Action will continue at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Lionel Roberts Stadium
Raymix vs. Waitikubuli. At 9 p.m., Laraza vs. Haitian Superstars.
