Brief: Planning Director Steps Down at DPNR

Sept. 3, 2008 — Planning Director Wanda Mills-Bocachica has resigned from her post with the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, according to a DPNR statement.
Robert S. Mathes, DPNR commissioner, praised Mills-Bocachica in the statement and said she had been "making good progress on the strategic plan and in the evolving relationships with Rutgers University and the Nature Conservancy.”
The department has been working with the conservancy for more than a year to develop a conservation strategy and action plan for the V.I.
Gov. John deJongh Jr. expressed his best wishes to Mills-Bocachica and said DPNR Assistant Zoning Administrator Majorie Emmanuel will serve as acting Planning Director until a permanent replacement is named.
