Cartel 16, Code 9 12
In game one, the Cartel outlasted Code 9 16-12. The Cartel had 16 runs on 18 hits with three errors, while Code 9 had 12 runs on 15 hits with three errors. James Smith was the winning pitcher, while Gladys Pagan got the loss for Code 9. Top hitters for the Cartel were Darren Lewis, 3 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs, and Eddie Dunkirk, 2 for 3 with three RBIs. For Code 9, Orlando Benitez was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and Angel Cruz was 2 for 3 with three RBIs.
Softball Inc. 15, Master Batters 7
Game two on Thursday saw Softball Inc. crush the Master Batters 15-7. Softball Inc. had 15 runs on 21 hits and three errors, while the Master Batters had seven runs on five hits and committed two errors. The winning pitcher was Cody St. Pierre, while Gilbert Jagroup picked up the loss. Top hitters for Softball Inc. were Antonio Cruz, 3 for 3 with three RBIs, and St. Pierre, 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Wyatt Heat 21, STX Merchants 10
Defending champions Wyatt Heat blasted the STX Merchants 21-10 in the nightcap. The Heat scored 21 runs on 23 hits with two errors, and the STX Merchants plated 10 runs on 14 hits with three errors. Martin Charles got the win on the hill for the Heat, while Dale Harris picked up the loss for the STX Merchants. Top hitters for the Heat were Spencer Hendrickson, 3 for 4 with two home runs and four RBIs, and David Gonzalez, 3 for 4 with three RBIs. For the STX Merchants, Owen Pimentel went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Phil Robinson went 3 for 3 with two RBIs.
