Brief: Missing St. Croix Girl Returns Home

Aug. 13, 2008 — A 14-year-old St. Croix girl, Carmen Nelson, returned home Tuesday after she was reported missing since Friday, according to police.
"She came home of her own volition," Police Public Information Officer Melody Rames said Wednesday.
Nelson was unharmed.
Police issued an alert for the girl after her mother reported her missing at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Nelson had left her home at Harborview Apartments Friday to go her aunt's house at JFK.
The case was referred to the Human Services Department, Rames said.
