Aug. 6, 2008 – Rowan G. W. Coates, Sr., also known as "Broths" or "Coates," of Estate Sunny Acres, died on Aug. 5, in Antigua. He was 56 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Sheryl Coates; daughter, Sherika Coates; son, Rowan Coates Jr.; father, Dennis Coates; sisters: Ethney Thomas, Robertine Daniel, Sandra Cornelius, Urlene Alling, Lourdes DeBellotte and Lerlene Arrindell; and brothers: Bernard Thomas, Fitzmore, Noel, Tyrone, Goldwin and Horace Coates Sr., and Austin Jacobs. He is also survived by cousins: Grethlyn Edgcombe, McArthur Jarvis, the Nicholas family, Sadie Lloyd and family; special friends: Hewlett Warner, Ivan Seargent, Nigel Francis, Kerwin James, Nicholas Cromwell and family, Kenrick Ephraim, Derrick Cole, Ms. Henry, the Anthony family and Lauchland Tonge; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
