Nayda Young Teaches Sew Stylish Course at Pistarckle Theater

Jan. 2, 2009 – Pistarckle Theater presents Sew Stylish, The Ultimate Virgin Islands Dressmaking and Fashion Design Course. Students who want to start their own clothing lines, bring life to their sketches or turn ideas into fashion will be taught sketching, sewing machine use, pattern design and garment construction. The instructor is Nayda Young of St. Thomas, also known as Nayda of Coki Beach. She is a fashion designer, costume designer, sewing instructor, author and tailor.
Classes are open to anyone from five years old to adults; and no sewing experience is necessary. Six two-hour lessons or ten two-hour lessons will be offered, and the course is ongoing. Lessons will be held on Saturdays at the Pistarckle Theater
in Tillett Gardens, St. Thomas. Private lessons are also available. The classes begin on Saturday, Jan. 17, and those who register before Jan. 10 will receive a 20 percent discount.
Also, as a student of Sew Stylish, students will always receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases at The Fabric Store on Goat Street, including sewing machines.
This course is funded in part by the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts, Community Foundation of the V.I. and the Pistarckle Theater.
