Alert: Water Leak Found in Frederiksted Area Under Repair

Aug. 5, 2008 – Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority customers in the Frederiksted town area will experience water service interruption from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today as water maintenance crews repair a leak on a 12-inch main line near the Paul E. Joseph Stadium. The leak has been responsible for low or no pressure in some areas of Frederiksted since Sunday.
Water technicians rerouted the water distribution system on Monday in order to provide service to all areas west of Estate William's Delight into Frederiksted town. Once repairs are completed, water flow will return to its normal routing in order to maximize service delivery to the Estate LaGrange and Frederiksted town areas.
Maintenance crews will make every effort to return service to Frederiksted town as soon as possible.
