Pace Runners and Ten Thousand Helpers Sponsor Fort-to-Fort Relay Race

July 23, 2008 – Ten Thousand Helpers of St. Croix Inc. and the Virgin Islands Pace Runners Inc. will hold the 25th annual Fort-to-Fort Run for Respect Relay Race on Sunday, Sept. 7. The four-person relay race will be run along Queen Mary Highway on St. Croix. Team members willl hand batons to their teammates at three points along the route developed by the V.I. Pace Runners.
There is an entry fee: $500 for a team and $125 for an individual. Large cash prizes will be given to the winners, and registration will be available online after Monday, July 28.
The annual race brings awareness of mental illness and supports Rainbow House, a transitional living facility for the homeless and mentally ill. It also funds an innovative alcoholism/addiction program. Volunteers are needed.
